I am photographer and a Business-IT Alignment consultant for Getronics living in The Hague, The Netherlands.
PHOTOGRAPHY
I entered the photographical universe a bit late. I never owned an analog camera. Which might account for my snappy way of taking pictures. Not good, erase it and shoot again. My photographical journey of discovery basically started when I bought a HP935 just to make some snapshots during my first visit to Cuba in October 2003. I just fell in love with the country and snapping portraits of its amazing citizens.
I discovered I have bit of a knack for getting portraits just right, to break the pose with a joke and snap it at the right time. It's not really something I can explain, it just works that way.
MY GEAR:
Canon 20D
Canon 24-105 f4 IS USM
Canon 70-200 f4 IS USM
PERSONAL
I was born on April 15th 1969 in a small town near Rotterdam called Krimpen aan de Lek, where I attended the Floraschool. When I was 11 years old we moved to Blaricum, near Amsterdam. Here I attended the Openbare Lagere School and graduated high school (Het Nieuwe Lyceum in Hilversum) in 1987. I went on to study Business Ecomics at the University of Groningen.
PROFESSIONAL
After my graduation I moved to The Hague and started working for PinkRoccade IT management, or Pink Elephant as it was called then. Seriously it was called Pink Elephant. Actually their is still a subsidiary in Canada with that name. Check out www.pinkelephant.com if you don't believe me.
The company has been my employer ever since. It is one of the four biggest system integrators in The Netherlands. I have held positions as (senior) consultant, project manager and currently I am a product manager for our migration solution portfolio.
I hope you enjoy the weblog.
