Google, the primary search engine available on the web, has filed for a Public Offering (IPO). The planned offering is $2,718,281,828 dollars. This amount is in line with Google's known sense of humour (as the image for the Dutch Google on this day already suggests). My friend Bert Boerland immediately recognised the number.
For those not blessed with a PhD, the number is Euler's number E, which is used as the base for natural logarithms. Hilarious!
Full filing here.
The founders also sent out a letter to their staff, inspired by Warren Buffets essays. Which made me smile again, as Warren is one of the foremost investors in the world.
